Legality of Chaplaincy

There is a lot of confusion regarding the separation of church and state in this country. Our definition of a chaplain is a "minister in the workplace". As such, this ministry desires to be a bridge between the sacred and the secular. The Constitution of the United States provides the means by which this may be properly accomplished without compromising in either direction.

Principles of Chaplaincy

  • We will respect the beliefs and traditions of our colleagues and those to whom we minister.
  • We will work collegially with chaplains of religious bodies other than our own as together we seek to provide as full a ministry as possible to our people.
  • We will seek to support all colleagues in ministry by building constructive relationships wherever we serve, both with the staff where we work and with colleagues throughout the organization we serve.

Philosophy of Education

National Center for Chaplain Development has embarked on revamping and utilizing the latest academic research on curriculum development that employs current brain research and the utilization of adult learning models which include student centric modalities. One such modality is Instructional System Design (ISD) that incorporates the ADDIE model.
