Don is a native of the Dallas, TX area and as a young man he served in the US Navy for four years, and completed five years in the active Navy reserves. After his military service, he completed his Masters degree in counseling and obtained his LPC license and then his LPC-S. He then pursued work with at risk youth in a residential setting, and now has over 20 years of experience in trauma informed care, crisis management, and life skills training. This included CBT, DBT, and training with Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model, among other trauma-informed interventions. He is married and has four lovely daughters. In his free time he likes to read, exercise and play the classical guitar.
