William Cork

Assistant Director of Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries, US Army (ret.)

William Cork is Assistant Director of Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries, the chaplain endorsing agency for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America. He spent twenty years as a chaplain in the National Guard and the US Army Reserve. In his final assignment he was part of the Strategic Initiatives Group at the Office of the Chief of Chaplains. He has pastored churches in Texas, Vermont, and Pennsylvania. He did campus ministry for eleven years in California and in Houston, and taught world religions at Alvin Community College. He received his M.A. in church history and his M.Div. from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. He is currently working on a Master of Public Health degree in Health Promotion and Health Education at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, and is in his final unit of a Clinical Pastoral Education residency at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. He is a member of the advisory board for the Texas Suicide Prevention Coalition. Bill and his wife, Joy, have two adult children, Andrew Cork and Aimee-Joy Hearn.
